Barny in London

During half term we had a couple of days away and stayed in a Premier Inn in East Grinstead. We chose East Grinstead  as it isn't far from Mark's brother and is also much nearer to London than we are and meant we could spend the day there and visit the Transport Museum.

Just before went away we received some Barny sponge snacks to try and so when I packed the bags for our holiday I included the snacks as I thought they would be perfect when Luke was feeling a little peckish.

Barny's first trip out was on the train to London, he enjoyed the journey and as we had had such a huge breakfast at the hotel (Luke had 4 sausages!!!) he didn't get eaten!

We were a bit too early for the changing of the guards but we did see some of the guards marching to Buckingham Palace.

We walked to the London Transport Museum, it was a popular day out judging by the queue.

Once we got inside Luke sat down and had a snack.

William was busy looking at the displays.

They both enjoyed going on the buses.

On Friday we spent the day in Brighton and Luke introduced Barny to the 2p machines. It was amazing watching the concentration on Luke's face as he tried to get the 2p coins to fall. He was actually quite good at it and with his £1 of 2p coins he managed to win about 80p back. He then decided to put it all back in and came away with nothing!!

It was a very windy day but the sun was out so we had an enjoyable day out in Brighton.

After a hectic day we went back to the hotel and the boys finished off the Barny snacks.

Barny is a bear shaped sponge and is available in two new flavours, strawberry and apple and with no artificial colours or preservatives is perfect for children. The boys preferred the apple one whereas I would rather have the strawberry one.

This post is an entry for BritMums ‘Winter Little Adventures Challenge’ sponsored by Barny, individually wrapped bear-shaped sponges with a hidden filling. Find out more about Barny here

Horse Riding

During Half Term we visited Simon, Amanda and Ethan. Simon and Amanda are keen horse-riders and both have a horse. They asked the boys if they wanted to have a ride on Lottie and so they both had a ride before we drove home. The scenery wasn't as stunning as the last time we went horse riding with Auntie Fiona in the Rocky Mountains but they both enjoyed it. Auntie Fiona will be pleased to know that despite William being much taller than she is he needed the step to get off! Luke of course managed to get off with no help whatsoever!!!

Naked Detox Peppermint & Sorrel Leaf 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner

Back in the 80's when I was in my teens, 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioners were the latest thing in hair care. The idea was great, only one bottle in the shower but no matter which one I tried they all used to give me dandruff. Fast forward 20 odd years and mornings have become a mad rush to get children ready for school as well getting to work on time so any product that can save time is definitely worth a try.

My hair is thick and curly and I use lots of styling products to try and tame my curls so every few weeks I like to use  a shampoo that removes all the product build up. Naked Detox peppermint and sorrel leaf 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner not only detoxifies but it conditions hair too. Despite my previous bad experiences with 2 in 1 products I was quite excited about trying this shampoo as anything that saves me time in the morning is a winner.

The peppermint and sorrel leaf fragrance smelt a little unusual at first however the fragrance soon grew on me. The shampoo lathered and rinsed well  and after using it for just over a week my hair is lovely and soft and feels really clean. Best of all there is no sign of any dandruff!

At £3.99 for 250ml it is definitely worth the money , even if it is just for the time you save in the morning.
